Volleyball Winner for HMIF Hometour

In April 2024, my class team won first place in the volleyball competition of the HMIF Home Tournament. I mostly played in the middle position.

The tournament

HMIF (Himpunan Mahasiswa Informatika ITB) is the Informatics Student Association at Institut Teknologi Bandung. During the long holidays it held a Home Tournament for all of its members, played purely for fun and enjoyment. Several sports were contested, and each class or batch entered its own team. The volleyball matches took place on 20 and 21 April 2024.

I played for IF'22 Ganesha, the Informatics class of 2022 at the Ganesha campus. Our team was Me, Sutha, Ihsan, Juan, Mesach, Ben, WG, and Emery.

Volleyball and my role

Volleyball is a team sport where two sides, separated by a net, try to send the ball to the other side's court and make it hit the floor. Each team gets at most three touches to return the ball, and every player has a position.

I mostly played in the middle position, at the center of the net.

The result

Although it was just for fun, our competitiveness was sky high. We were not going to sit still, and it was a lot of fun, but in the end we won.

IF'22-G took first place and the gold medals. STI-J finished second, and STI'20 took third.
