Material, Methods, and Event Division of PAB UBV 2023
My experience helping plan the materials, methods, and events for PAB UBV 2023, the selection process for new members of ITB's volleyball club.

I was part of the Material, Methods, and Event Division for PAB UBV 2023, the new-member selection process for Unit Bola Voli ITB (UBV ITB). Working with a small committee, I helped shape the program that prospective members experienced over the course of the selection.
UBV ITB and Jatifest
UBV ITB is Institut Teknologi Bandung's volleyball club, bringing together students who share an interest in the sport. Joining the club is not automatic: students first go through PAB UBV, or Penerimaan Anggota Baru UBV, its new-member selection process.
Before the selection, UBV took part in Jatifest, where student clubs introduce themselves and invite students to join. It was one of the ways prospective members could discover the club and meet its community.

The PAB UBV selection
UBV values family, organization, and volleyball. PAB UBV is designed to find students who are ready to commit to those values, take on the activities and challenges of the process, and keep going through to the end.
My role in the committee
I joined the Material, Methods, and Event Division. Our division planned the learning materials, how they would be delivered to prospective members, and the activities scheduled throughout the program.
There were eight of us, and the scope of the work often left our team short-staffed. Even so, we worked together to make the process meaningful for the prospective members who completed it.
Around 100 people signed up. By the end, about 30 remained and officially joined the UBV ITB family. Seeing them stay committed through the process and form close connections with the club was one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.
Looking back
The journey from not knowing the club to becoming a senior member of UBV ITB was memorable. PAB UBV involved around ten months of on-and-off work alongside our studies at ITB. The friendships, challenges, and relationships we built are what I will remember most.
It was not perfect, and we made plenty of mistakes. But I do not regret taking part.
